Throckmorton Family Wins College Savings Iowa Giveaway at State Fair

September 8, 2022

Des Moines, Iowa – State Treasurer Michael Fitzgerald awarded the Throckmorton Family of West Des Moines with a $1,000 College Savings Iowa contribution from the Iowa State Fair Giveaway. “The State Fair is a great opportunity to introduce families to the 529 plan and its many benefits,” said Fitzgerald. “It also gave us a chance to make an impact on Annelise’s education fund. No matter how little or big the contribution, money saved today is money that may not need to be borrowed tomorrow.”

College Savings Iowa is continuing the giveaway spirit in September. “This is a great reminder to enter in our current giveaway for College Savings Month,” added Fitzgerald. “Enter for your chance to win a $10,000 account contribution at!”

Administered by Fitzgerald, College Savings Iowa is the State’s direct-sold 529 plan helping families and friends save for the rising cost of higher education.
